I’m On Cloud 9, Literally

Check out my video of the trip here!

I recently wrote about my trip to Fiji in February/17. If it wasn’t clear enough for the post, I absolutely fell in love with a little slice of heaven called Cloud 9. This floating pontoon of pizza and poolside vibes can be found a mere 45 minute jet boat ride from Fiji’s Port Denarau.

During our trip we stayed further up the island in an area known as the Coral Coast, meaning that to get to the port we endured a two hour long drive on the counties questionable road network. However it was totally worth it as we pulled up to the port which basically acted as the tourist hub for all Fiji has to offer!

We paid a little extra for a ticket that gave us a seat on the first boat to the pontoon for the day, ensuring that we could get ourself a prime spot to live the lux life for a day. On top of this, we also got a $180 bar tab between the three of us! So after settling in and ordering drinks we took in the view for a while before taking a plunge. The water was crystal clear and the most stunning shade of blue. Being the lazy people we are, we grabbed a couple life jackets to use as make-shift floating chairs (thank you to the guy who had the genius idea in the first place) and enjoyed the brilliant weather.

Later in the afternoon we decided to cash in our bar tab for more drinks and pizza, which was made fresh on the pontoon. What more could a gal ask for! Ignoring the don’t swim after eating rule we decided it was time to jump back in and take advantage of the prime location for some amazing video footage.

Sadly our day started to come to a close and we quickly used the rest of our bar tab because boating back to Fiji’s Port Denarau. Despite the high price tag and long journey I can 100% recommend this day trip to anyone who is taking visiting the island. Really is like being on Cloud 9!
